Remember the Future

The ballet Remember the future is based on the literary material of Richard Bach's fable in novella form "Jonathan Livingstone Seagull".
Under the guise of a flock of seagulls, Richard Bach describes the human society, its ignorance, a ridiculous struggle for food and a place under the sun. Everything would be very hopeless, if a gull-like Jonathan did not appear among the crowd. This seagull is special. It is different, and it teaches us to "fly."
The image of the main character that Bach is trying to convey to us, is the image of a strong and courageous person, the image of a free and bright being, the image of a personality that is capable of so much.
This theme became the embodiment in the ballet "Remember the Future", created to scores from J.S. Bach's polyphonic cycle The Art of Fugue.

Remember the Future

Балет Remember the future основан на литературном материале повести-притчи Ричарда Баха «Чайка по имени Джонатан Ливингстон».
Под видом стаи чаек Ричард Бах описывает социум, человеческое общество, его невежество, нелепую борьбу за пищу и за место под солнцем. Все было бы очень безнадежно, если бы среди толпы не появлялись такие люди-чайки, как Джонатан. Эта чайка особенная. Она отличается от всех, и она учит нас «летать».
Образ главного героя, который пытается донести до нас Бах, – это образ сильного и смелого человека, образ свободного и светлого существа, образ личности, которая способна на многое.
Эта тема и стала воплощением в балете Remember the Future на музыку полифонического цикла И. С. Баха «Искусство фуги».
